Why is Pocket not opt-in? Will Firefox force Pocket adoption moving forward?

more options

Since Mozilla allegedly focuses on user privacy, which is Pocket not an opt-in extension rather than an opt-out, fundamental portion of Firefox from which it is becoming increasingly more difficult to get away?

Will Firefox continue to force Pocket adoption moving forward? Has anybody at Mozilla actually read the Privacy and TOS documents from Pocket? If so, how can Mozilla ever claim to care about their users' privacy? At no point in time during the installation process is the Pocket integration in Firefox highlighted; there are no warnings given, no links to the 3rd party company's policies. Nothing. Will this be changed, if Firefox keeps Pocket?

Sorry you some how got your self into Pocket. I have 3 systems and none are hooked up with Pocket and it is a opt in feature I guess as never used. If you tried it then you opt'd in. I never tried it.

Or there was a glitch in your update/install.

Pocket continues to be an optional service that is "opt-in". It has become a standard feature in Firefox, but each user needs to activate it if they wish to use it. It won't do anything until it is used the first time; other than being "in your face" in the User Interface [UI].

If you disable Pocket completely via the hidden extensions.pocket.enabled preference as explained in the support article that my colleague hyperlinked, all traces of Pocket disappear from the UI and you won't have to look at it when you're using Firefox.
