My Thunderbird email app on my PC is not syncing to my IMAP email account. I delete unwanted emails using my IMAP account and yet when I open the Thunderbird app on my PC the emails I deleted are in my inbox as unread.

Will Thunderbird use css for text anytime soon? My current version is 128.3.2

Right now it uses the old html code for font size. I would at times like to make the text bigger say for my headings then font size 6 I use the add-on called ThunderHTMLedit to view the code.

Crashing on start up

On 02-Nov-24 my Thunderbird installation on a windows 10 PC and a separate installation on a windows 11 laptop both crash on start up with no ability to start in safe mode etc and therefore no way of diagnosing. As a temporary measure on my PC I have put all the T-bird files in a safe place deleted the application and re-installed a fresh application with a new profile and the added back some of my email accounts.

It is not ideal because all my preferences, tags etc have all gone and some of the new defaults settings on the fresh installation are not good. I would like to be able to go back to my old profile with a version of T-bird that works.

Does anyone know what was going on on 02-Nov-24 that would have caused this? How can I re-instate my old profile?

New update removed the quick filters I was used to, and added new ones that are not useful to me. Additionally added a search-history-pop up-window that appear every time I click on the search bar.

Hi! None of the online comments, in either T-Bird Help, nor web searches, help with this problem, because the Settings interfaces are totally different from what are described in Help or in web searches.

My new T-Bird update as of today, but also the preceding version, does not mark messages as read. Even after I have read a message it continues to be displayed as bold face after I move on to another.

My only option is to left-click on the message, select MARK> on the drop-down, and select MARK AS READ.

Nowhere in the setup or SETTINGS sections do I find the option:

___ Mark all opened messages as read

or something like that ... which is what I need. Am I missing something? or is this a Bug?

Much mention is made in the Thunderbird of the Tools - Options page. I'm running Linux Tbird V128. Options I'm looking for are things like: Making default the 'open a existing email in a new tab'. How is this done? Another example: How do I make the default, for all folders in an email account, show email in descending order as opposed to the apparent default of Ascending order.

Referring to your article https://mzl.la/3TS8WcA (Import settings and data into Thunderbird for Android) . The first step is : Export Thunderbird Desktop settings

  Click ≡ > Tools > Export for Mobile. 

However, I am running version 128.3.3esr (64 bits) "Nebula" and the menu "Export for Mobile" isn't available under "Tools" as mentioned in the article.

Please advise

I have two different email clients I use Cox Business and the other is gmail business account. I have never been able to send out mass emails from the gmail account and mass only being about 175 users. Until this week I could send out mass email from the cox account. I get an error message from gmail that says Sending of the message failed. Your message has too many recipients. ToomanyRecipientserror 5614622812f47-3e661190b86sm3130092b6e.7 - gsmtp. The other error message I am getting from cox says. Sending of the message failed. Recipient temporarily rejected - OXSUS003_403 -https://postmaster-oxsus.vadesecure.com/outbound_error_codes/#_405. However I can send a mass email to the same recipients from my personal email from cox using thunderbird and have no issues. I would love any suggestions you may have. I would really love to solely use my gmail account and move away from the cox business account if we can get this working.

See above. There was a Thunderbird Update this week and all of a sudden I lost all email listings. The email page is blank or has a couple of old emails which are largely irrelevant. I urgently need to recover the reading pane for the emails as there are a lot I need to respond to but currently I can't see any of them. I'm still getting the pop up pane advising receipt of new emails but there does't appear to be any way of reading them. Please can you help urgently!
