Hi Guys, I wonder if you can help . I have had Monzilla Thunderbird App for some while , primarily used for email, and access to my email account with Microsoft and has always been a bit of a pain to say the least. That I fear is because it was never set up properly by myself in the first place.

However, at the moment I can't receive any email from my PC ......."bards@btconnect.com " unless I sign in via a webpage. However, access via my smartphone using supplied Outlook email app, no problem.

So I am hopeful that you guys can help me sort out my PC access once and for all.

The current problem has arisen after receiving a forced donation / subscription page from Mozilla having made my donation I still do not have access to my email and folders.

Brief history: i. Originally PC access to account via Monzilla working fine, (donations made at intervals to Monzilla). ii. Microsoft then changed security systems and servers and with current setup at the time I couldn't get access to email incoming or outgoing ( problem with Imap / PoP3 servers). iii. Fix provided by Monzilla with new account denoted as .... bards@btconnect.com (OWL) whatever OWL stands for I do not know, (annual subscription required). iv. Even with the use of this get around , I still had problems sending mail this I believe was a problem down to default passwords and old server settings. (confliction between default settings and original account settings and use of OWL ? ). v. As mentioned above the current problem has arisen after receiving a forced donation / subscription page from Mozilla having made my donation I still do not have access to my email. problem with server settings again. Don't know what's going on ? and I am thoroughly confused and would appreciate some help getting things back on track. Somehow I was running an unsupported ver 129 on a Win 10 system, not sure how. I was getting a warning message at startup. I decided to install the latest supported ver 128. I did that over the ver I was running and did not save, export or rename anything. Just one install over the other. I have lost my calendar that I spent months building. Did I lose it? Any possibility it is still around hiding somewhere? Help please, but I am prepared for the worst for being hasty in my decision. Cheers, TR

I am using Mac OS Ventura 13.6.9. I have been a Thunderbird user for many years. Since this last update, I have started having issues where not all emails are displaying. Seems like most recent emails open correctly, but when I get to emails that are a day or 2 old, I get the the following banner across the top of the screen when the email opens, but can't open the remainder of the email.

I have attached a screenshot to show what I am seeing.

I am using gmail and I can access the emails in gmail, but not in Thunderbird. What is the fix for this?

I recently updated Thunderbird. Currently now running 128.1.0esr (64-bit). The highlight colour (when I place the cursor on a message) is now a dark brown. I need to change this to another colour so that I can 'see' the text of the header. Have played with colours in Settings, General - these changes do not change the default highlight colour. I am having trouble with my email flow of traffic. I can send out an email but I can't receive an email. I used to use this program so I am a returning client from Boardview Advertsing. I know very little about POP/IMAP things nor how to fix things. Is there any way I can speak with an actual person about this as I'm supposed to jump back in with Boardview Advertising, and apparently no one is receiving my emails.


Really sorry but please can someone help me?

I am using windows 11 pro and until last night had been happily using Thunderbird with no problems. Suddenly i go to check my emails and every one of my email accounts have gone, vanished, dissapered. All i was left with was a screen saying to enter an email address as in setting it up from scratch. Any thoughts on why this has happened and has it happened to anyone else?

Beginning just this morning (July 12) when I open received messages (from my inbox) they open as if they are messages to be sent, and in a strange format that is completely different from the plain text and images I've seen for decades. There are boxes with colored lines around elements of the message and an unexpected black-on-white formatting toolbar which is bizarre given that the message I've opened is received and not a new message to be sent. I've not been able to find guidance for what to do to fix this. I have the same issue on separate computers, one running Windows 10 and one running Windows 11.

Edit 1:26 pm Maybe the gremlins left early for the weekend?? the problem totally disappeared. Messages open as before, not as messages to be sent, no more weird boxes, toolbar gone. On both computers, with no changes to settings.

This is an issue that has cropped up many times in years past. Thunderbird really needs to fix it, rather than provide hacks. But for now, I'm using Windoze 11, Tbird 115.12.2 (32-bit) and it's up to date. I am not only using Microsoft native security software, i.e. no Norton antivirus and the like. I am not highly computer literate, but I have used Thunderbird for decades.

    to enter our email which  has caused problems. Surely you should not have accepted our address in the first 
    place. I have not been able to find a way to cancel it on line.
