Good day, After upgrading Thunderbird to 143.0.1, I noticed that a large part of one of my local folders is missing. Searching the internet regarding this problem, I found that this issue happened last year and at other occasions. Why hasn't this problem been solved yet at it is a pain to locate and find the missing data ourself. Any suggestions to avoid this problem in the future

スレッドの新しい順、古い順の選択項目が表示させません

受信トレイにある「スレッド内」のメールの昇順と降順を変更したいのですが、表示→スレッドの中に「メールを新しい順にする」のような選択肢が表示されません。困っています。

並び替え項目では「スレッド」を選択しています。

サンダーバードのVer.は最新です。

Had this problem suddenly crop up since the update of one of my accounts not sending mail due to timeouts. I've not changed any passwords or settings since I had it working last. The message is the "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) [my workplace's SMTP server] timed out. Try again." one, and it's preventing me from sending any emails.

Specifics:

  • It's one account (my work one: work runs an Outlook/Microsoft mail server).
  • My personal account (gmail) sends fine. Both accounts recieve email fine too, so this is just one direction on one account.

Things I've tried:

  • Switching my Firewall off makes no difference, so it's not a firewall problem
  • It's not that the emails I'm trying to send are too large, one word test emails also don't send
  • Extending the timeout time by 3x doesn't help

I also opened a second computer not yet running the latest version - the account worked fine. Then applied the upgrade and that broke things in exactly the same way as described above. So I'm pretty sure this is an issue caused by the upgrade in some way. Not sure if other people with Outlook servers are having the same problem or if there's any workaround available but would appreciate advice.

Using TB 141.0 MS Word 11 Too many wrong videos, too many old explanations. It's August 2025. Please, I'm not a computer wiz. Just a home novice. OK with specific directions. How to export my Gmail contacts list and import it to my TB contacts. I have tried basic gmail export...but should it be "google .csv", " or what? I don't think I have Outlook loaded anymore on windows 11. If you could help by actually sending me instructions that I will follow direct. ie: Sign into Gmail>click on contact file to be exported>export contacts and click "google .csv" (or the correct choice there)..then what? I've been trying and it wants me to save to a file...but how? And which file? I know it's an effort on your part, but I will print and save going forward. Thanks so much. LS in AZ.

Most of the questions I have are either not answered at all or not answered in help or in forums and I'm unaware of any responses to questions I've asked. Isn't there any way to get support from a live person? My questions are often quite complicated. When I ask a question, I get dozens of answers that have nothing at all to do with my question and I don't have time to look thru all the answers. When I do see an answer that might be relevant, it either isn't or the answer is far too technical.

For example, I have no sent folder. Cant understand answers that tell how to create one. Need to be able to save my sent messages. Having to cc myself to get a copy of a sent message - stupid situation.

I am switching from Outlook to Thunderbird because of complicated problem with Outlook. Got garbage when imported csv contact file and can't find how to delete a large number of contacts. Reluctant to use your specific Outlook import in case it brings the Outlook problems along.

Really need help with lots of things making the transition. 'bold text'

Hi, Unfortunately, I am a non-tech person and I am trying to install Thunderbird emails on my Mac Book. I have a thunderbird account which I normally access on desktop, however that will soon be obsolete so want to access them from my Mac Book, but I am really struggling to access and download everything. I've recent moved to Linux and Thunderbird from Win/Outlook. I have a singifcant message base that I've successfully migrated to Thunderbird, most in bound email but witha chunck of outbound too. This all appears in Local Folders, with the outbpund stuff in Sent Item sub-folders.

Card View suits my well, however when I look at the Sent Items local folders, I always see the from address (i.e. me) rather than to "to" address. This is pretty useless, however I can't see any way to influence if it shopuld the from or to address in Card View with local folders. Am I missing something?

Card View within a 'normal' email account shows either to or from as you'd expect, and therfore works fine.

Currently using Thunderbird v143.0.1 on a Windows 10 Pro desktop computer. Since about 17 July 2025, I have not been able to access all of my Local Folders and/or content messages. There are 39 primary local folders displayed with an additional 27 not displayed. However, by navigating through the User AppData folder structure as follows: C:\Users\Ken\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\k1fx5scw.default\Mail\Local Folders, I am able to see the missing folders and messages, just not able to access them from within Thunderbird.

Is my problem a Thunderbird setting value or have I run into a physical limitation of the application?

TB will not send or receive emails with my pktriot.net site link, but sends any other URL link. I want to have someone preview my wordpress site and i created a Packetriot account to do so online. I have found that my pktriot.net links are never received. Further, if I send the pktriot.net link from my Gmail account to my TB email, I never receive it, but if I send the same link to another gmail account it goes through just fine. If I send the link as a "pktriot dot net" it will go to my TB email account, but clients do not want to manipulate an email to view the site. As stated previously, any other URL to any other site works fine, ONLY my pktriot.net link fails to send or be received. Am I missing something here? Thank you for any help you may have to offer.

Bonjour je possède un compte thunderbird sur lequel je reçois les messages personnels et j'ai rféée 3 adresses, ne pour mon épouse et 2 pour mes enfants. Le problème c'est quez je ne retrouve pas le mot de passe pour le compte de mon épouse, ce qui fait qu'elle ne reçoit plus les messages sur Thunderbird et elle est obligée de se connecter sur son compte Orange. Elle perd ainsi beaucoup de temps ainsi que les facilités associées à votre application. De plus je n'arrive pas à modifier son mot de passe. Comment puis je faire ? Pouvez-vous m'aider ? Hello, I have a Thunderbird account where I receive personal messages, and I've referenced three addresses: one for my wife and two for my children. The problem is that I can't find the password for my wife's account, which means she no longer receives messages on Thunderbird and is forced to log in to her Orange account. This wastes a lot of time and the convenience of your application. Furthermore, I can't change her password. What can I do? Can you help me? Thank you.
