macOS 15.5, TB 141. By design, when one "Removes" a profile without deleting the data, the profile no longer appears in Profile Manager, but it is still in the profile folder. Thus, is it safe to manually delete a "removed" profile if one later decides it is not needed?

I am on the release channel and have 139.0.2 (64bit) installed on my main computer and my laptop. Up until recently I have been able to right click on Local Folders and select "Mark All Folders Read" and all mail within all my folders are marked read. Now, however, when I click "Mark All Folders Read", I get the confirmation box "Are you sure you want to mark all messages in all folders of this account as read?" but when I click OK, the box disapears but nothing happens at all to the folders. When my computer was repaired, Windows was reinstalled but I lost various programs, including Thunderbird. I had to reinstall it. I assume my data--my email database--was not erased, but I don't know how to access it. The online help menus are not helping. How do I connect the program with my existing profile, which I assume is still on the computer somewhere?

Recent problem, real nasty, may just have to give up on Thunderbird, at least on the Windows 10 computer.

Click on folder name in folder list, all messages previously downloaded and viewable, when the message list appears, it instantly disappears and the message list pane displays "no message found" and it proceeds to download the entire message list all over again. For some folders with over a hundred thousand messages, this is unacceptable, obviously.

Hello,

After the automatic update of Thunderbird Destkop (Windows 10) to version 1.140.0 and then a manual update to 141.0, I cannot send emails using port 587 with STARTTLS (e.g., for an account hosted at smtp.office365.com).

Sending mail from other accounts via port 465 using SSL/TLS still works. Also, using an older version for Linux with the same setting for port 587 works.


Does anyone else experience a similar problem? Has there been a change in the implementation of STARTTLS?

I am using my University of Florida email (https://www.mail.ufl.edu/), IMAP. When I turn on Thunderbird and I send messages, everything is good for a few hours. After that, when I send an email I get this error every time:

Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent-XXXX@XXX.

How can this be solved? Only way to fix is closing Thunderbird or rebooting, then problem represents itself. But then I lose the sent emails.

Note: could the problem be that by Default Thunderbird saves emails in a different sent folder? Which is not ideal, because when I send from my phone or from the web things go in a different folder than when i send from Thunderbird. Should I tick off "others"? in the attached pic? How should I consolidate the 2 "sent" folder into one? Should I manually copy them? Or after I select "others", they consolidate themself. I dont wanna do a mess, can you please provide step by step instructions.

Hi. Recently, every email I download in Thunderbird comes as a duplicate. I use my address tom@barkas.co.uk, which goes to my domain barkas.co.uk, hosted by Ionos, set to automatically forward to my zen address, then download from my zen address. I can't see anything in my Thunderbird account settings that would result both in this happening in TB, and it not happening in Outlook. I searched for similar problems and ran chkdsk c:/f and cleared the cache in TB, but still happening. Any ideas?

Hello. I have been using Thunderbird for a long time. I have not changed any parameter, but I have very recently encountered a problem: For messages received between July 27th and July 28 th, the title of the message is displayed in Thunderbird, but the content does not appear. And it is impossible to delete the messages. I have just updated for the last version of Thunderbird 140.1.0 (previous version was 140.0), and now the new messages can be opened and deleted. But the messages received between July 27th and this update still can not be opened or deleted. Any idea of the causes of the problem, and how can I have full access to the affected messages ? Moving a task from one calendar to another does not (can not) delete the original task. You have two copies of the same task in two calendars!

When I move a task on google mail for Android from one calendar to another, the task list on the Thunderbird desktop shows me two copies of the task! see image2 When I try to delete the original task in thunderbird desktop from the task list I get the prompt: see image1 When I change the calendar on the desktop, the same prompt occurs. I can delete the moved copy of the task from the new calendar, but the original task in the original calendar is undeletable! Clicking "Synchronize" for the original calendar doesn't change anything!

I had a disk crash on a Linux laptop and had to rebuild it from scratch. I have my entire home directory backed up, including the .thunderbird folder, and am now trying to use it by replacing that folder in my new installation with the back-up one as outlined in the instructions in the Thunderbird article about how to do this.

But after doing this, when I start Thunderbird, only the most recent IMAP download data comes up. None of the historical backed-up data is there.

Any advice you can offer will be appreciated.

I'm looking for a way to confirm deletion of a message before deleting it. I often use the `Home/End` button on my keyboard and sometimes accidentally press `Delete` button. In that case, a message could be deleted without me even noticing.

I know about the add-on (https://github.com/caligraf/ConfirmBeforeDelete), but it has a lot of bugs and is not compatible with Betterbird

Any idea?

This has been a recurring issue that comes and goes with time.

It happened to me a few weeks ago, than I updated thunderbird and it disappeared.

Now I am on the latest version it is happening again.

Basically, if I click a mail two link in say firefox, it can take up to two minutes to create the new message in thunderbird.

Alternatively, if I am clicking a link in thunderbird, to launch a website in say, firefox, it can take considerable time for that link to launch as well.

I'm currently on debian 12, running the very latest thunderbird.

128.13.0esr (64-bit) Release notes Mozilla Thunderbird Flatpak en-USthunderbird-flatpak - 1.0

This is a problem I've never really been able to solve, so I'm asking here. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as it's massively impacting my workday.
