How to view mobile history on desktop?

I have Sync setup both on desktop and on my phone (Firefox for Android). If I go on my desktop I can't see the history of my phone, I see only the history from my desktop… (читать ещё)

I have Sync setup both on desktop and on my phone (Firefox for Android). If I go on my desktop I can't see the history of my phone, I see only the history from my desktop Firefox. On my phone I can see the history of both. I activated the sync for Bookmarks, History and Tabs on both devices. How could I solve it?

Firefox for Desktop version: 82.0.3 (64 bit) on Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS Firefox for Android version: 83.1.0 on Android 6.0

First of all, I have to thank you to build the community in your freetime. I've changed my computer. I have 2 firefox accounts, the first for private browsing, the second one for work browsing, and I use them via different Firefox profiles. The configuration of the private account (adamsterbinszky@gmail.com) was succesful. But the configuration of the work account (sterbi@orfk.police.hu) was not. I've used this accounts since 2013, and I'd reconfigured them so many times, and there wasn't any problem until now. The actually problem is the unreceived verigfication email. I've tried the actions below: - checking email working -> Perfectly works. - checking spam folder -> There is no any mail in the spam folder. - adding accounts@firefox.com to contact list -> Done. I did not get the verification emails. The administrators probably changed the security settings. I cannot log in, I cannot sync. I tried to send you this letter from my work e-mail, but I did not find any support address, just this option. How can I resolve this problem? Thans for your help.

Hey y'all,

First, thanks for your attention. This has been driving me nuts over the last few weeks and if I can fix it I'd be very happy.

I switched to Firefox a few months ago and immediately set up the password manager and a bunch of bookmarks. Unfortunately, the next time I shut down my computer and restarted, Firefox said this browser was a new installation and had totally reset, with nothing saved.

This happened again a second time, so I set up a Firefox Account so I could have the settings saved to a profile rather than an installation.

Every time I restart the same thing happens: Firefox has a 'new installation' and none of my settings. The first time I logged in to my Firefox account to sync it, it worked. But I've just installed Catalina, previously using Mojave, and on that restart it happened again, but the Firefox account sync isn't doing anything. Now, every time I open up the browser, even if I haven't restarted the computer, it brings me to the same 'new installation' screen. When I log in to my Firefox account as prompted, none of my previous information syncs. Nothing happens at all after I get the "This Firefox is connected" screen.

I know the sync is at least somewhat connected because I can sync tabs from my phone to my computer.

Any ideas? I can re-do all of my passwords and bookmarks, but I don't want to bother if it isn't getting saved anywhere, or if I can't stop this factory reset whenever my computer shuts off.

I'm on a Macbook running Catalina 10.15 if that matters. Thanks!

Recently, I had to deactivate my old email. Unfortunately, I didn't think to change the email address to my new email before deleting my old one. Now that I have a new computer (Windows 10, same as the old), I can't sync my old Firefox setup to my new setup since I have to verify my account through my old defunct email (impossible to do).

How can I change my Firefox account's email without verifying through the old email address?

The machine name ZBook-17-G2-Tumbleweed is not showing in Sync Tabs. Firefox has lost all my tabs a few time in the past 2 weeks and when I opened the sync tab to bring the tabs back the machine name is not there and all my open tabs are gone.

New update wipes out everything - all gone

I had to update firefox to current version to pay a bill on a web site. I did it. I was recommended to sync another device during install, I did that too. I worked for a few hours on firefox just now, then it crashed. It reported data it had but now I have nothing. No history, no bookmarks, NOTHING. I logged in, my username and password worked find but it's like a fresh install, no data. Over 10 years of history, hundreds and hundreds of pages and passwords all gone. I synched to my phone as it insisted I install another device. Supposedly that was done but I have no idea how to use that or what it can do. They claimed it was a backup.

I'm at a total loss.

Synced Tabs disappeared - is there a way to restore?

Up until recently I was using a 11 year old laptop that was slowing dying. I was finally able to acquire a new computer and get it up and running just before an accident (as if out of a comedy movie - the roommate's cat knocked a full bowl of cereal onto the old laptop) effectively destroyed the old machine. Thankfully, Firefox Sync meant that everything I had been working on appeared when I got the new machine fully functional...until I logged on to Firefox this evening to find my Synced Tabs empty with just a "Want to see your tabs from other devices here? Connect Another Device" message.

The old device is toast...I don't know if it will even turn on again, much less function enough to sign into Firefox. Synced Tabs was also working just fine for a solid week until it just up and disappeared. Is there some way to restore these? I know it's my fault for relying/expecting Sync to always be there and not backing up the links I had open immediately, and this is a mistake I won't make again...but I'd really love to not lose everything I had open.

I am IT techie, and I need FF help on this. I searched the entire sync issue forum, but of no avail.

I had a Windows 10 update issue so I decided to format my PC. My sync was enabled and all data was synced normally. I went ahead and formatted it, and installed a new copy of Win 10, and all softwares, including FF. Now after syncing for over an hour, I cannot find anything. No history, no bookmarks, no logins, nothing.

This is definitely something to do with your update. I cannot figure anything else out. How can I get my old data back? This is absolutely ridiculous and frustrating.

I have 2 other laptops with FF synced, but they aren't booting up either because of hardware failures. I cannot risk turning them back on, and loosing my FF data from those laptops.

Please advise, how to access my cloud data on FF, or should I switch over to Google chrome because of your incompetency?

I am unable to sync into my firefox account. It says, "The confirmation email we sent to *email address* was returned and we’ve locked your account to protect your Firefox data." According to other threads, one is to wait 24 hours before trying to log in again. It has been more than 24 hours, and I am still unable to access my account.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

It seems that Firefox does not sync all settings the way for example Chrome does. In Google chrome one can expect absolutely all settings to sync across browser instances instantly. In Firefox only parts of the settings are synced. This makes Firefox unreliable and inconvenient because it is not apparent to the user which settings are synced and which are not.

Here is my experience:

- I made a new Firefox account - Signed in - Made sure syncing is on for:

  • Bookmarks
  • Credit cards
  • History
  • Add-ons
  • Logins and password
  • Options

- Added some add-ons, added some bookmarks - Customized the interface - Changed some Settings - Opened a Windows 10 VM - Installed Firefox 83 (so both computers have the same version) - Logged in with my Firefox account - Waited for the sync

So far I can see that my extensions are synced and my bookmarks. However there are some things that don't sync:

- Customization for controls, buttons and toolbars - Default search engine - Alternative search engines - Settings for "Firefox Data Collection and Use"

There might be more settings that don't sync, which I have not tested. Is this behavior expected? If so I might switch back to Chrome. Syncing only certain settings defeats the purpose of syncing, at least for me.

Also is there any list or information about which settings are syncing and which are not?
