This a major rant about Firefox in General. How bad is it? I am writing this using Chrome because my Firefox browser spends as much time "not responding" as actually working. On three different machines. I use a Vista desktop, a Windows 7 Home Premium laptop and a Windows 7 Professional laptop. SO the problem is NOT repeat NOT limited to my set, system capacity or the like. Firefox just stops working about twice an hour for about 2 minutes at time on any of the three machines. Today, in just 15 minutes Firefox decided to take a cigarette break 3 times. I have used Firefox for years. If this does not end soon, I will become a full time Chrome user. Any body else have this CONSTANT problem?

Have you tried this with Current firefox 19.0.2 after a Reset? Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings. This isn't the place for rants, but we'll help you fix Firefox if you'd like.

This has helped some people who have problems with page loading being slow:

How many extensions do you have? Are any in the "problematic" category?

Do you get the same thing happening in Firefox safe mode?

I have automatic update set for the browser on all three machines. Yet I am on 19.0.0 on all three. Why do I not have the latest update?

19.0.2 just came out in the last few hours, so it might take a little bit to get to your machine, and 19.0.1 was for Windows 8 only. Have you tried the Reset?

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
