Well crash? if opening a menu item of thunderbird and closing again you get a "not responding"" warning and the only thing you can do is close the program. Windows 7 doesnt find a solution. This Is just a warning. It took me a long time before I discovered it was the 3D. (reinstalling a virusscanner, 3 times a restore point and a complete system image) I realise there are not a lot people using nvidia's 3d. So I dont expect any changes by the programmers. O, the first time I also had to restart windows after turning 3D ""off"". No Idea why this was only the first time. I did already took out the 3d add-on (what the hell was it doing there?) but that didnt help.

Hardware acceleration has been such an issue that the upcoming Version 38 has a user interface in the Advanced options to turn the use of hardware acceleration on and off.

Until then this does the same job https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1012145
