In the add ons manager it says I should update to FP 11.3.300.271 because the previous V 11.3 xxx has a security flaw. I don't understand why FF says to do the update when they know there are persistent crash problems with FP 11.3XX and the FP security bulletin says that it really only affects users of the IE9 browser. Seems to be a waste of time. I know I did the update and then had to undo it and go back to V.268 which actually works for me.

We know this is not ideal but the security flaw is one that is actively being exploited right now. In other words, it's not a theoretical problem.

Thank you for your reply. I thought I would give it one more try installing V.271 and the same thing happened again. It didn't work in FF and it didn't install completely in IE9 so it didn't work their either. That's the 5th time I've tried it so I'm not sure what's wrong with the FP installer. I actually got it to work once in IE9 using the FP uninstall tool, but, then I had other problems. Not worth the aggravation right now. I contacted Dell Tech support and they said to leave it a .268 until perhaps FP comes out with another update.

What you can do as well is to update your flash player to the latest 11.3, and then disable protected mode. this should alleviate all issues, but leave your Flash secure :) http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0

OK I figured I try it once more. I used the FP uninstall tool and installed V.271 in IE9 that seems to be working although at times it looks a little bit squirrely. As for FF before I installed the FP plug in I was doing something and FF alert bar came up saying I need to install the missing plug in and what did it install, by itself, was V.268!! Perhaps someone can explain this to me?
