I can't open my Thunderbird mail due to a message that may be spam

soprisue

I have been getting this message when I try to log in to my Thunderbird mail for over a week: "accounts.google.com needs you to confirm access again to keep syncing with your account. Username: soprisue2@gmail.com."

I am afraid the message is Spam, so I hesitate to click on it, but if I delete it or X it out, it goes to another screen that doesn't let me click on anything. Eventually I get a message that Thunderbird is not responding, and I close it. I am basically locked out of my mail access through Thunderbird. Please help me.

I cannot access the Thunderbird app menu to find out what version of Thunderbird I am using, so I guessed.

That sounds like a perfectly normal request from Google for you to re-authenticate Thunderbird as something that can access your account information like mail or calendar.
