I've been trying to add a new email address/account on Windows 11 with Thunderbird 143.0 (64-bit). I've never had an issue adding email addresses/accounts previously. . I continually get this error message: Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIMsgAccountManager.createIncomingServer]

I can log into this email account on roundcube (email client) without any issues using the same pword, but when I try to set up this email on thunderbird I get this error.

I get this error at the final "Enter Password" screen and can not finish the setup.

If you have the account hub enabled in Settings/General, disable it and add the account from ⇶ - New Account - Email.

This fix worked for me:

Try creating the account the old way:

   go to TB menu > Settings > General > Account hub > uncheck 'Create accounts in the new Account Hub'
   go to TB menu > New Account > Email

Go to TB menu > Help > Troubleshooting Information > click the 'Clear startup cache button', then retry.
