Starting from a few weeks ago, incoming messages written in HTML no longer display the HTML. As far as I know, I have not changed any relevant settings. I do my own mail in plain text, but I still like to be able to display HTML-based messages properly. My Thunderbird is running on windows 10.

check View>Message Body as and tick 'original HTML' if menu bar is not visible, click the alt key first

My new installation of Thunderbird also is not displaying HTML. Original HTML is checked. Message sizes show a few 100KB so something seems to be there, but not HTML-ing.

HTML display now working OK. Possible cause may have been lengthy initial IMAP sync with many emails to load up. Not sure, but operating OK now.
