When I open thunderbird, I am not able to access gmail.com to get email. I get this message: "Login to server imap.gmail.com with username [edited] @gmail.com failed."

I recently had to change my google password to a new one, which I did. That allowed me to get back into my google account, but now my thunderbird access to my email address at google is not working.
