I need to move my Thunderbird portable profile to a new Thunderbird installed version.

I installed Thunderbird and looked for the profile folder using the troubleshooter.

I copied the portable profile to the installed profile folder.

On running Thunderbird it was blank.

I tried to add the inport/export profile extension, but it would not appear.

Whats going on?

did you copy it to, or replace the existing contents of the new profile folder which is what has to happen.
