Accessing message filters causes Thunderbird to freeze
Thunderbird freezes when I try to create a new message filter. I select 'Message filters' in the menu and the window appears. However, when I select 'new', the window becomes unresponsive.
I think it has something to do with my profile. When I delete the .thunderbird folder, restart Thunderbird, a new profile is created an things work fine. When I migrate to a new OS and copy my .thunderbird folder, the problem persists. Deleting the msgFilterRules.dat of the individual accounts did not help.
Here are the messages from my terminal:
USER@COMPUTER_NAME:~$ thunderbird -safe-mode
(I'm using safe mode with addons disabled and reset toolbars/controls.)
1557173677947 addons.xpi WARN Can't get modified time of /usr/lib/thunderbird/features/wetransfer@extensions.thunderbird.net
(Now I select 'Message filters' and 'new'. The following line keeps repeating every few minutes.)
JavaScript error: jar:file:///usr/lib/thunderbird/omni.ja!/components/nsPrompter.js, line 340: NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE: Cannot call openModalWindow on a hidden window
At this point I'm pretty clueless. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
