I have set up an e-mail account. I can receive and send messages. When I receive an e-mail, I read it. About five minutes after I read it, the e-mail shows up as unread. Why? I am using a MAC OS X, Thunderbird version 38.5

Is the account IMAP or POP? What mail provider? is the account linked to any other devices? Does the issue disappear if those devices are turned off for that 5-10 minutes?

it is a pop account, the mail provider is fairpoint.net, the account is linked to other devices but they are not turned on.

Anyone? Anyone? I deleted the account on the other computer, still having issues with the account I did not delete. I think I'll just use a Microsoft product
