I want to start fresh seeing as I can't fix my problem. Next step is yet another reload of my computer or a new browser. I want all registry keys gone so everything.

Download Firefox Full Version For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then;

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

• Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory.

edit: removed poor advice about registry and deleting Profiles.

You may have a corrupt cookies.sqlite file.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the cookies.sqlite file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

Well if that's the case it's been done 10 times over and keeps happening.

Are you logged out while at the site? When you restart Firefox or the computer?

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

It can be while at the site. I deleted the cookies file yet again (11th time) and it's ok for now but it will for sure come back. I can go to facebook.com have to login then scroll my feed a minute or two and go to post and have to login again. So it's live while in the browser. This computer is my daily and also the media server for our house so it's always on and there is always a browser window opened. I only reboot after running windows update once or twice a week.

I also don't have any programs like you mentioned that run. The only programs aside from ones that have nothing to do with the internet or a browser are MSE and Malwarebytes. The browser itself only has adblock and xmailnotifier installed as addons. There isn't any tool bars or any of that trash and I don't go to sites I don't regularly requent and trust. Mostly forums, facebook, paypal, our bank sites, ebay, etc nothing off the wall.

Following your link above. I've refreshed FF and the problem came back about 24 hours later. Refreshing keeps cookies etc and deleting the cookies file has worked for more then 24 hours.

I've uninstalled FF many times from the add remove in control panel and gone in and manually removed the remaining folders all to have the problem come back again. Which is why I was wondering how to clear the registry of any firefox traces and start completely from scratch. I really don't want it to come to another fresh format and reload.

I'm not sure if I want to go through setting this computer up all over again just for a browser but I sure don't want to continue using it with this problem.

and after deleting the cookies file yesterday it's back to not remembering me. So I'll try the safemode bit today and see what that does.

Start in safe mode and places I was logged out of before starting in safemode I'm logged in now. So something is jacked up for sure.

Any change if you use a New Private Window to test for issues in the current session?

A PB mode windows uses its own cookie jar that lasts as long as there is at least on PB mode tab or window open, so you can't use this across a session when you close and restart Firefox.

Are you using a direct connection or do you connect via a proxy?

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network : Connection > Settings

See "Firefox connection settings":

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.

So I said screw it and reformatted my drive and installed windows 10 this time. After 24hrs Firefox is back to constantly not remembering my logins all over again. This is old and rediculous. I can't see how I'm the only one that is having this problem. It's been doing it since one of the more recent updates.

You know those updates that install even though you have it set to not update. Firefox has sure gone down hill.

It would be nice to run a v30ish browser and not have it update. I bet my problem will be gone then.
