New computer synched Safari bookmarks instead of old Firefox bookmarks. How do I get the old ones back?

Downloaded Firefox browser, and I think I inadverdently synched Safari bookmarks instead of old Firefox ones. How do I get all the old Firefox bookmarks into my new computer? I tried trashing Firefox and redownloading - didn't work. Also tried making a new profile. Also didn't work. Help, please!

Sync doesn't work between Firefox and any other brand browser. More than likely with a new Firefox installation you imported those Safari bookmarks into Firefox as part of the installation procedure.

As far as your old Firefox bookmarks, what format you you have them in? bookmarks.html bookmarkbackups.JSON or the places.sqlite file from another Firefox installation

Each has a unique method for getting them into Firefox.
