Every time I open Thunderbird a new installation window (file extraction) opens as well. Whether I proceed through to finish or cancel, the result is the same. Thunderbird appears to be working normally in every other way, but this window opens each and every time I open a new session - please help!!!

Check what's the target of the shortcut you use to start Thunderbird. It seems to point to the installer, not to thunderbird.exe in the application directory.

Hey There Christ1 - The target ended up being right, so I disabled addons and renabled them one by one hoping I would find the problem. As it turned out, when I finally got down to ReminderFox (one of my faves :-( that one triggered this reaction every time, so unfortunately until the developer comes up with a fix for that, I've just kept it disabled... Thanks again for your help - and anyone else who may be having this problem, try disabling this add on for now (bummer)! Thanks again everyone! tls
