A while back I tried to update my FirefoxOS Flame but something went wrong during the update and now I am stuck with an unusable phone. Basically, the phone rarely starts up. When it does (seemingly randomly), it is stuck on the initial firmware screen, the ugly red writing.

When the screen is on and stuck, adb devices returns device, but ./flash.sh fails (I am not able to recall more details and I can't get the phone to switch on right now).

The problem is that most solutions I find on the internet require the phone to at least start up, while I cannot even reach the recovery mode.

Is there a way to wipe the phone clean from usb without having access to the phone interface?

Did you try via fastboot ? (Volume up or down, plus powerbutton). Once in fastboot, flash it again

The Flame comes together with a special "Recovery" USB cable.

This cable is only for EMERGENCY situation, and it is to rescue Flame when it is in ‘dead’ mode—a status that your Flame cannot power up by long-pressing the POWER button. This status is RARE in normal using. In case you phone is “dead”, please contact technical support flameservice@thundersoft.com for recovery cable’s operation instruction.

This recovery cable is NOT an normal USB cable, please keep it carefully and use the USB cable inside of the giftbox for daily use. Thank you very much. "
