I'll have these pop up adds that it come up from the sides, and then when I go on any website, sometimes it'll open up a new tab i didn't even want open, and it'll be something like adobe download or firefox update download. There will even be times four windows will open up back to back and they'll just pop up. I don't know what to do, is it malware or something? I have ad blocker.

Open Options (in the main menu, unless you've moved it), and on the Content tab make sure that Block popup windows is ticked (checked).
