Why is EVERYTHING now in "always activate" mode?
I cannot change ANYTHING from "ALWAYS ACTIVATE" to anything else. This has ONLY occurred since last update.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
Check your Plugins. "Ask to Activate" can be triggered when a Plugin is not the latest version. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
Adobe Flash is set by default to check for updates once a month; easy to be out of date with Flash and Adobe not let you know.
There is no "Advanced System Care" anything on this machine. This was not noticed prior to the last update. I was trying to turn A-scumbe Slimewave OFF, and noticed that I couldn't. I couldn't turn anything off. Everything in Add-ons is set to "Always Activate". I hate that. I DO NOT desire ANYTHING to happen on this machine unless I ask for it. This "automatic" crap has no place here.
A'scumbe has ALWAYS been behind the curve. They have always been at least a year behind the most useless applications on the market. I find no use in operational software that even lets A'scum-bee have any kind of priority to operate. There has to be another application that is as bad as A'scum-bee that can be depended on to operate without hogging the processor down to less than a creep. Slutwave Flush is completely functionless. It has no usable value known to man. There needs to be SOMETHING that functions WITHOUT dragging a processor to its knees. As for my current anomaly.....I find it interesting that a 'generic upgrade' has removed functionality that is actually needed. Why couldn't the upgrade removed Slutwave?
I'm a little puzzled by your code names for things.
If you want to uninstall plugins completely, use the Windows Control Panel.
Have you tried changing the plugin permissions using Firefox's Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
Any improvement?
