Seriously, this is why I don't use firefox. Why is there a searchbar? How do I remove this. And why is firefox going to use yahoo as the default browser.

Why is there a search bar? It's for searching. ;-)

In the old days, the address bar didn't connect to search, but that changed at some point so now you have multiple options. Still, some functions are only available on the search bar, such as easily changing your current search engine. More on that: Search bar - add, change and manage search engines on Firefox.

You can use the customize feature to move the search bar either to the menu or into the palette of unused controls. More info: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.

Does that work for you?

In the US which I assume will be en-US locale only, the Yahoo one will be the default search engine in December which is also when Firefox 34.0 will be released on December 2nd.

You can still change to another search engine and all of the search engines that are in 33.1.1 will still be there.

Firefox is the web browser, not a search engine so the browser is not going to be Yahoo.
