secuity doesnt work
Every time I go to a secure site I see a warning about "Get me out of here". If I add the site to the exceptions under tools>options>advanced it usually overcomes the problem. This applies to sites I have used for years - banks etc.Now I am locked out of Google. Also when I visit secure sites that I have listed as exceptions it seems to take forever. When I do all this is IE8 - which I don't want to do-thee are no issues.

You may want to delete the cert8.db file to remove all exceptions and reset the intermediate certificates stored in it.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

What was the last version of Firefox you used that did not have this problem?
Do you use BitDefender or ESET security software? If so, you may need to disable their filtering feature from intercepting HTTPS connections (turn off SSL scanning).
I got rid of BitDefender and all is now well

got rid of Bitfender and installed Symantec. All problems gone.
