Can IMac 0S10.4.11 run Firefox 4.0 after 3.6.16

I have an old Imac with a round base. Firefox has worked very well. I downloaded 4.0 to my Ibook and that is fine. But when I download 4.0 on the IMac the icon has a stop sign on top of it. When I move it into the Application folder anyway a message tells me that I cannot use this application.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

Thank you Just a a couple of days ago I returned to Google, typed the question and received your general response on the Firefox Website. Don't you think the OS requirrement should be posted immediately?
