Ever since the Firefox 115.2.0esr came out, all searches — not just Google but any sites that have a search box — freeze the page for nearly 10 full seconds before it initiates the search. I tried disabling my antivirus just to be sure an update to that isn't messing with things and it's not. This is definitely a Firefox issue and a VERY annoying one. I can't believe an emergency patch hasn't already been released!

Kaspersky can cause performance issues if you have "Inject script into web traffic to interact with web pages" enabled and don't have the companion browser extension installed.

This was interesting and I thank you for the suggestion @zeroknight. Unfortunately, disabling the setting you suggested did not resolve this issue.

What I did find interesting is that rolling the Firefox version back did not resolve it either and it has continued through subsequent Firefox version updates. So you may be right that something has changed in my Kaspersky settings that I am not aware of, though it wasn't this.
