Can I create an online backup of the Thunderbird Folder on Mac?

Dear Mozilla/Thunderbird!

I´m grateful for the existence of Thunderbird - it has been my e-mail application on different Macs for More than a decade.

My question is simple: How can I create an online backup solution for the "Thunderbird Folder" on my Mac without using iCloud?

I don't fancy iCloud and have another online backup service for all my stuff on my MacBook Pro, but I would very much like to be able to keep a continuously online backup of all my Thunderbird data/folders as well. As for now I frequently create a back up manually copying the "Thunderbird Folder" from "Library" and upload it in a cloud service, but I would love to automatisise this, if possible. I'm talking of the Thunderbird Folder, that I access in Finder pressing down the Option key and clicking on "Go" in the Finder menu bar at the same time - this reveals the "hidden" Library folder on my Mac where the entire Thunderbird folder lies. Currently this folder is 45GB on my Mac as I have e-mails including attachments from the last 15 years saved here - from a variety of e-mail accounts of which several are no longer active. I simple use my Thunderbird as an "archive" where I can find all my dialogues from all times - including my current e-mail communication which is set up as IMAP.

As I understand it, I cannot move this "Thunderbird" folder away from the hidden Library - but can I somehow make this folder upload to a cloud automatically - maybe dropbox?

Very best regards, Ras
