Lockwise does not install on less than an Android 7.0 device. I have a firefox account that I use on my Android phones (Android 6.0), tablets (Android 4.3 and 5.0) and computers (linux and windows). If I want to keep them synced with Lockwise while using Firefox 70, this is a problem for ALL my Android devices. I don't have the cash to go buy new devices with new releases of Android (7.0 and above). An explanation of the design decision making that requires Android 7 and up would be helpful. I suspect some security features were added not in Android 6 and below, and coming up with a way to do it might be problematic. If Android 6 could be supported, it would be a real blessing.

Hi starmister,

unfortunately it looks like they're going in the opposite direction. Latest release notes for version 3.1.0 say that the target SDK will be increased to 28, which is: Android 9.

Although the lower bound for the app is still Android 7 for now.

I have this problem as well. My Android is 5.1.

If I understand correctly, if I enable Lockwise on the PC and it starts generating random passwords then I can't see how I'll be able to use those apps on the phone at all.

What's the answer?

Thanks in advance, Oliver

Lockwise is a default password interface in desktop Firefox. You can just synchronise passwords with your Firefox for Android.

I really think that few people need this app on Android.
