I'm running Windows 10. Firefox will not start so I thought I might need to re-install it. I opened Internet Explorer and made that my default browser (I don't know if that then imported bookmarks etc - maybe)

My intention was then to uninstall Firefox, download a new copy and install it. However, when I try to uninstall a message tells me that Firefox is running and I need to close it first. Except it's not running of course. When I open Task Manager and look at the apps running only Internet Explorer was listed. How do I fix this please?

Windows 10 has got me closer to biting the bullet and moving to Linux.

Thanks for your help.

Windows 10 didn't start in safe mode using the F8 key, but started normally. I had already downloaded Mozilla. I deleted the Mozilla fles (except Thunderbird) in Programs. Then I installed Firefox again. Suddenly my keyboard was not working so I restarted. Windows 10 decided to update on restart and now Firefox seems to be working OK.
