Can I fix the library so that I don't get every single web page I go to? I only want certain ones, like the way bookmarks used to do.

Every web page I go to ends up in the library. This is excessive! Very excessive. I'd like it to function the way it used to; i.e., only selected (by me) sites are bookmarked. Can I reset Firefox back to the old way of bookmarking web sites? It would be great if you could help me with this.

Thanks.

Then open the Firefox Menu Bar and use it again. Mouse to top of browser Right Click then Click Menu Bar. I never stopped using it myself.

The Library is a combination of Bookmarks, History, and Downloads. Are you saying that you do not want Firefox to remember history, or you just don't want to see it until you specifically go looking for it?

One change in Firefox 57 that may be confusing is that there is a Library button on the toolbar instead of separate bookmarks and history buttons. You can switch your buttons if you like. Just to be clear what I'm referring to:

  • "Library" button:
  • Bookmarks menu button:
  • History menu button:

Use the Customize panel (Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars) to find buttons you can drag to the desired spot on the toolbar. You also can drag items from the toolbar to the box on this page to remove them.
