I'm trying to install the Firefox browser on my Windows 7 laptop. The installation seems to work, but once I attempt to start the browser, it appears on my task list for a few seconds, then just disappears with no error or anything like that. I've tried holding Shift to start in Safe Mode, but it doesn't change anything. I guess it doesn't even get far enough to check for that before closing. I've tried reinstalling it many times, but nothing has changed. How can I make Firefox start properly?

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

I already used Safe Mode and somehow it fixed it altogether; it even works outside of safe mode now. Still, thanks for the help.
