How do I remove the Most Visited, Getting Started, Free Hotmail, etc toolbar? PLease don't suggest the customize button as this has no option to get rid of it.
A "most visited, getting started, free hotmail etc" extension has appeared just below the navigation bar. it takes up room and I do not need it. I cannot get rid of it without also getting rid of the navigation bar. The customize options do not offer any solution. I have the latest firefox (installed last week).

the toolbar you said it is the bookmarks toolbar !
are you sure you don't want it ?, Right-click on an empty section of the Tab Strip and UNselect Bookmarks Toolbar in the pop-up menu.
if you want to disable only the above bookmarks, right-click on it and select delete.

Go to options, and there should be the list of toolbars that you've put on there. If it's a bookmark, then you delete them or go to the bookmark label to not show it.
Firefox Menu > HIghlight over prefrences > select "Bookmarks Menu" and it should be unchecked.
