Firefox is browsing slowly and keeps losing its default browser setting after dealing with malware programs

more options

Hi!

I recently had problems with the File Recovery rogue program virus, which I think I managed to eliminate via running Malwarebytes anti-malware program and the Superantispyware program. However, after this I noticed that both Firefox and Opera seemed very sluggish while other programs using my Internet access seemed to work at an ok bandwith. I even tested my connection via speedtest.net and it gave me the results my ISP is supposed to deliver. Another symptom is that Firefox keeps losing its default browser setting after every system reboot.

I think I still have some malware or spyware left which affects my browsing, as I have deleted the cache and cookies for both the browsers and even reset Firefox. I've also updated Firefox and the Flash player to the latest versions and enabled hardware acceleration. Another source of the problem might be my running ComboFix when I wanted to find a solution to the File Recovery rogue program. The instructions I followed gave me the picture that it was ok to run it even if I wasn't fully aware of the consequences, but it seems it can do real harm to your computer if you don't know what you are doing. I also tried tdsskiller in order to get rid of any rootkit problems, but the program didn't run at all (even after renaming it). Currently my computer is protected by F-Secure Client Security 9.10.

I wonder if anyone else has had these kind of symptoms after deleting malware and hope that someone might have some kind of solution to my problem. Bear in mind that I'm not familiar with tampering with settings I don't understand, but I do know how to run most basic commands. :P

Looks like you have still some malware leftover on your pc, please create a thread on malware removal option such as bleeping computer, malwarebytes forum or others. But please choose anyone, do not use many instruction on same pc, that can harm your computer. Good Luck :)
