Hi,

It would also be helpful to post here. You can also try to directly access the add-on support site via Firefox Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons > Extensions > More (beside the name) > Home Page or via the add-on page @ AMO.

Ok! I'm absolutely NO internet/computer geek but I can answer this question because I just figured out how. LOL. It just so happened that the nature of the error message led me to remember a similarly annoying problem I had just a few days ago. I can't save directly unto my C: drive! I DON'T have permission to unless I log in as an admin. (the silly part about this is my computer tech knows the password and STILL hasn't given it to me!!).

Alright. You had to allow me to vent just a little because this first time answering any technical problem online, and I'm almost 100% positive my answer will help.

The Downloadhelper folder set for you to save your files to by default, you just don't have permission to save files from the internet directly into that folder. You may not even be able to do it from the computer itself! This is what you do:

Click on "Tools" on your Firefox menu toolbar.

Go to Downloadhelper, and click on "Preferences."

Click on "Services", then "Download."

Where you see "Storage Directory," just make a quick note that you DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION to SAVE in that directory (just like the error message was telling you in the first place... lol).

So, click on "Change Directory," and select any location/folder you know you've had no problem download unto in the past.

Additionally, you might want to select "Ask" where it says "Upon changing original file extension" as an option.

I hope this helps! If not, I have no other clue how to solve the problem. It worked for me. Good luck!
