Using a Dell computer - with Windows Vista and Mozilla Firefox - I cannot open to read any PDF Documents. What do you suggest ?

Have a look at
- using the Adobe Reader plugin with Firefox and especially the link it gives that can be used as a test.
- if you are having problems see also View and edit PDF files using Firefox’s built-in viewer

I solved my problem by deleting Adobe Acrobat -- not sure what the conflict was , but I do thank you very much for your info.

Glad you solved the problem,
Adobe Acrobat may well have been an older version of Adobe Reader. It certainly was possible at one time to run multiple versions on one computer, but that is not really advised.
