Want to set behavior of tab focus ,on close focus goes back to the last tab to have prior focus (or to the left)

If I have a group of say 6 tabs open and have focus on the third tab. Then follow a link in a new tab (which opens next to the third tab) when I close that new tab focus goes to the right the original fourth tab rather than back to the third tab that I came from. Is it possible to set firefox so that it returns focus to the last tab to have focus or the tab left to the of the one closed. It currently shifts focus to the right unless the closed tab is at the end of the current tabs.
