FIREFOX 3.6.6 FREEEZEZ ON GOOGLE FIRST SEARCH PAGE

Dear Mozilla,

As of the last update to 3.6.6 when one searches anything in GOOGLE the Firefox will take you to the first searched page. Any attempts to click on any other page or the 'next' arrow results in a little box appearing where you are clicking and then basically nothing.

That's all you get. The web address for the next page search appears in the address bar but the page never appears...Firefox leaves you sitting one page in.

If you hit the 'refresh' icon the browser will move to the next indicated page but then that's it again. Help!!! I rolled bacl to version 3.5.6 but this still keeps occurring, suggesting that my registry has become corrupted in regards to Mozilla. Thanks Bill

Dear Mozilla update folks,

Re: the initial posting: Not only can you not go the the second, third, or further search pages, you also are unable to search for new terms using the current page (meaning, the page once an initial search has been performed).

I would like to uninstall this update and return to the previous 3.6.?? version of Firefox, but I can't find information on how to do this (I can, however, find info on how to return to 3.5, which I think I'll do because the Google search problem is an enormous inconvenience...

Same with Mac OSX 10.4.11 - any ideas? The previous version was working fine... now I'm stuck using Safari.

Same problem on W2000.

I uninstalled 3.6.6 and installed 3.5.10. That did not fix the problem.

I suspect this problem is now a registry issue as rollbacks to two previous versions 3.6.4 and 3.5.6 did not resolve the stoppage. Anyone have any idea what registry key unlocks the puzzle? Bill

I also use the Google toolbar in Firefox. If the search is done via the toolbar the freeze problem is not found. This is weird.

It seems like ever since I updated to Firefox 3.6.6, my Google search pages constantly freeze up and become non responsive. I've never had this problem with any older version of Firefox.

I have the same issue. FF 3.6.6/Win7.

This is a really big issue for me. I am posting this using Chrome.

Someone needs to get on this, Google is the third lobe of my brain, and FF will go before Google.

Two things I've noticed..

If I search from the Toolbar, the pages work fine.

If I use the user agent switcher, and change to the IE7 user agent, then it works fine. I wonder if something has changed on Googles end?

Whenever I get the popup in firefox saying there's an "urgent update ready for download" I always ask myself... is it gonna be worth it? Obviously not in this case. I don't know why I ever left Firefox 2. The golden days they were. I don't care if Firefox 3 is memory efficient I got plenty of memory I dont care how much Firefox helps itself to - At least 2 didn't crash as often or have as many troubles as 3. Yes, I am ranting. And now it's over.

I'm having the same problem as the OP when using Google. I have two machines with this problem, both running Firefox 3.6.6 on Windows XP SP3. Running Firefox in Safe Mode does not correct the problem.

This need to be fixed urgently or I will have to switch to another browser.

i just changed back to IE and am having no problems... haven't used it in years, but it seems that it is better than it used to be. just an fyi for those who are having this issue...

I cannot believe that Firefox is not working on a solution to this problem. I can tell you that if I switch I am not coming back. IE lost me the same way and now I am being forced to return to them because my favorite browser will not repair a major problem. Wake up!!!!

I have a similar, and I suspect related, problem. When searching for anything on google, a results page will appear after you click "search" or hit enter. However, firefox will not allow subsequent searches. You have to reload the main google search page! Very annoying. Does not happen in IE7. I am using Firefox 3.6.6 and Win 7 Home Premium. This behavior is not exhibited in Bing/FF (not that I would ever use bing, just wanted to confirm that the problem is unique to FF/google.
