AFTER 137.0.2 EVERY TIME I START FF ALL MY PREVIOUS TABS ARE GONE AND I BACK TO THE TOUR SCREEN. ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS, BESIDES SWITCHING TO ANOTHER BROWSER?

Hi, I'm assuming you installed Firefox from Mozilla's website. If you installed Firefox from the Microsoft Windows store, it might behave differently than regular Firefox.

Two initial questions:

(1) When you start Firefox, does it give you any error messages or explanation about why it can't access your existing data?

(2) Did Firefox recently propose a Refresh, Reset or Tune-up? That would clear your home page setting, but usually preserves your open tabs.

Checking for closed windows:

Could you check whether either of these are available (not hidden or grayed out):

  • "3-bar" menu button > History > Restore Previous Session
  • (menu bar or Alt+S) History > Restore Previous Session

If you find one, go ahead and use it. If you don't, please continue...

Next, check one of these to reopen the most recently closed windows:

  • "3-bar" menu button > History > Recently Closed Windows
  • "Library" toolbar button > History > Recently Closed Windows
  • (menu bar or Alt+S) History > Recently Closed Windows
  • Ctrl+Shift+N

Can you get anything back that way?

Checking for non-visible windows:

Open the Firefox View tool using either:

  • click the file drawer button at the left end of the tab bar
  • type or paste about:firefoxview in the address bar and press Enter to load it

On the Firefox View page, click "Open Tabs" to show a list of open windows and tabs in each window. Do you see any of your missing tabs here? If so, can you bring them into view by clicking them?

Please let us know whether you've found any missing tabs so far.

No. All I get is the tour screen on one tab and the privacy notice on another tab.

My previous session is gone. As well as my extensions.

I did a refresh. After refresh I reinstalled my extension and reopened the tabs that I could remember, and made sure to check the "open previous session" box in the settings, it does the same thing: tour screen, privacy notice, all previous tabs gone, extensions gone, any tab I pinned just sits there without opening its website.

This was originally downloaded from FF download site and it updates itself.

I did a restore previous session, but again if I shut down FF and start it up again, Tour screen, etc

I'll have to wait till I get back home and I'll have to reinstall FF.

30 APR 25 Okay I reinstalled FF. So far so good. The last time I reinstalled it worked for awhile before it started malfunctioning again.
