Have you checked the Windows volume mixer to see if Firefox was somehow muted in there? You can right click on the speaker in the bottom-right of your taskbar and there should be an option to open volume mixer.

Make sure that the volume bar for Firefox is not all the way at the bottom and that the speaker icon under Firefox is not muted.
