I am just switching to Thunderbird after many years using WLM. One feature I used on WLM was the ability to examine the properties of an incoming e-mail before opening it, which was useful to detect spam. Is this possible on Thunderbird? The attachment shows the content.

In TB, that is the Message Source (Ctrl+U), but viewing it actually opens the message - there is no 'preview'. To move, delete or tag a message in the Threads Pane (message list) without opening it, close the Message Pane (F8 to toggle).

Thanks for your reply. What a shame that it opens it. The whole point of being able to view the message source was to avoid opening it.
