Shared TB Profile working intermittently

Thank you in advance for any help the community can provide I want to share a TB profile with 2 computers to sync Sent and Inbox folders.

I have my TB software accessing the (POP3) Profile directly from the second computer through our network. My inbox works intermittently and just spins as if it is loading messages (possible indexing?) with a white screen most of the time.

I tried IMAP but we have a large number of E-mails and subfolders in both Inbox and Sent and quickly exceeded our quota.

Any help would be appreciated.

Two things you need to know about such a setup:

  1. You must keep both installations of Thunderbird on the exact same version, so if you update one to 68.9.0, you must update the other one to the same version as well.
  2. Only one installation/instance of Thunderbird can access that profile at any given time. You cannot have simultaneous instances of Thunderbird accessing the same profile.
