changing/ editing the autocomplete function - when composing an email it searches for any addresses with that letter in it, not just those that start with it.

So when writing a new email and I type in any letter, Thunderbird brings up all addresses that have that letter (rather than just those that start with that letter).

Try it with the MoreFunctionsForAddressBook add-on installed (see picture).
