... just realized today that I can't switch back to my beloved dark Developer Edition theme anymore via tha GUI, nor is there any setting to be found in about:config. Am I missing something?

Okay, I installed "devedition theme enabler", which I thought was not needed anymore?, I restarted, and compact themes are back. Phew : )
