Conteúdo:
Mozilla works with advertising partners to place sponsored shortcuts, sponsored stories, and advertisements on the New Tab page. These are always clearly marked, and you have control over whether they are shown. Privacy is fundamental to Mozilla’s mission. We adhere to the [https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/contributing/data-collection.html privacy standards for Firefox], use technical designs that enforce these standards, and we only work with advertising partners that meet those standards as well.
The revenue from these advertisements on Firefox New Tab supports Mozilla’s mission to build a healthier internet and help fund Firefox development. Because Mozilla is structured not for maximizing profit but for advancing its mission, this revenue is reinvested into projects that foster a healthier web and improve privacy, including how to deliver ads in a privacy-preserving way. By keeping ads optional and transparent, we create a sustainable way to support Firefox without compromising your privacy.

=Sponsored shortcuts=
The [[New Tab page in Firefox|shortcuts feature]] on the Firefox home and new tab page shows useful quick links. To support Firefox development, the first 2-3 shortcuts are sponsored in the default configuration for some regions. These are clearly labeled and can be individually dismissed or disabled entirely as described later in this article.
==How does it work?==
For first-time users, both the sponsored and non-sponsored shortcuts are general-interest sites like Amazon, Reddit, and Wikipedia. As you browse, the non-sponsored shortcuts are gradually replaced by sites you visit often. Sites in your history are ranked by both frequency and recency of visits (which we call “frecency”), and the top-scoring sites are shown as shortcuts. All of this happens entirely on your device in your copy of Firefox.
In most cases, sponsored shortcuts remain general-interest and non-personalized even as the other shortcuts are populated by sites with high frequency scores. Occasionally, sponsors may pay Mozilla to specifically boost the score of their site during frequency ranking. In these cases, the shortcut is based on your history, but shown in the sponsored section. This still happens entirely on your device; your copy of Firefox has a list of participating sites, which receive a higher score during local ranking.
All processing of browsing history happens on-device, and Mozilla does not receive your browsing history. For sponsored shortcuts, Firefox sends which shortcuts were shown and clicked to Mozilla using a technology called Oblivious HTTP so that Mozilla is not able to learn which sites you have visited. Mozilla uses this data to confirm the shortcuts are working correctly and to report to sponsors how many times their site was shown and clicked. This helps demonstrate the value of homepage placement and encourages sites to continue their sponsorship.
