Thunderbird demands my password for outgoing SMT server when I go to send an email but when I enter it, system won't accept it even though it is the correct password. I have had this problem for some time and it comes and goes. Sometimes I have ebeen able to send without a problem, then it comes back I had a helpful reply from this forum (can't find who posted it - Mick?) tellling me to go into the error console (Ctrl + Shift + J) and delete eveything in that. I tried that. It worked at first, but now when I do it, it has no effect. And the problem now appears to have become permanent, although occasionally after I have been working for some hours, then suddenly I can send without any problem. Problem hasn't budged though for a couple of days now. This is a mysterious and erratic gremlin, which now seems to have taken root. Any suggestions please? Carol

Hi, I'm trying to move from outlook and use thunderbird. But every time I try to login using my outlook email account I get an 'authentication error'. I tried to look online for the solution, but haven't found it.

Hi. i have an IMAP account. I like to have my inbox in threaded view, so i know if i replied to my customers and to easily view the order of the emails. This causes a problem because i also like to have every sent email in the "SENT" folder, which made me use the Copy Sent to Current PWE, and it works like i want now.

But something happened after i have been using this extension (even though it happened only once): the same person answered to a chain of emails, which was already organized has thread, the sendedr is the same and the subject is exaclty the same, but the email was placed on my INBOX but OUTSIDE the thread.

Why did this happened and how can i force that message inside the thread again?

Since 26 August I have not received any emails! I am able to go to my browser & see all my emails so I think fault must be with Thunderbird!

I use IMAP to grab my mail, if that's important.

In the last couple of days, my normal method of deleting messages from my Inbox, right-clicking on the message and selecting the trash can icon, has stopped working: the message disappears for a moment, then reappears. I can delete it by dragging it to the Trash folder in the folders pane on the left.

I've followed the instructions given in several postings here, including deleting the Trash and trash.msf files, doing that and then creating an empty txt file called Trash (no .txt), and using Repair Folder.

It just now occurred to me to disconnect from the Internet and try to delete a message. It worked fine?!

I have Thunderbird 154.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11. When I opened Thunderbird this morning, it originally gave a message that the connection to the email server had failed. Before I had time to look into this, it downloaded a number of emails without headings and sometimes without text. However, Thunderbird on my Android phone, I discovered subsequently, had downloaded all the messages correctly. The problem seems to have now corrected itself for subsequent emails, but is there some way I can force the download of these previous incomplete emails? Also, this is a very recent update to Thunderbird - I think it was installed in the last few days. Is it a problem with the update and is it likely to occur again?

Afrihost is my service provider and emails are accessed via a webmail page. The size and functionality is limited and I use Mozilla Thunderbird on my laptop with Windows 11 to save emails in local folders on my hard drive. I can't do this via webmail and my backup changes between Thunderbird and the webmail page. Yesterday I cleared my inbox to local folders in Thunderbird but am no longer receiving emails there. My old and new emails can still be seen in the webmail inbox, I don't know if I've exceeded some limit and I don't want to lose old emails in my local folders. Personal, low volume use only

Hi all I have recently installed Thunderbird on a PC that didn't have an mail program. Its Win 11 and includes Malwarebytes and Norton 360 for security Thunderbird 154.0, (64 bit)

I followed the set up as I have done many times before and previously had no problem. I am using Plusnet and have set incoming mail as POP3 on port 995. I have set outgoing mail to SMTP and port 465 ( plusnet recommended 587 doesnt work at all) I have set my login name and password. Security is SSL/TLS

Incoming mail is received normally Outgoing mail asks for my password as on attachment Entering a password doesn't work and results in another error message

I'm using Thunderbird v128.8.1esr. Over the last week or so, suddenly it stops auto-downloading messages. When I try to manually download by clicking "Get Messages", nothing happens. I had to reboot my machine to get it working, but yesterday it happened again and restarting the application allowed me to download.

no access to email through Thunderbird since aug. 20th. Spotty. Use spectrum and they seem not to be interfacing with Thunderbird. Will this end? Know we are not the only ones.

Since this morning I cannot send emails but are receiving them. when I attempt to send an email i get the message "Sending of the message failed., An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: We have detected suspicious activity from this mailbox. Please try again later.."
