unable to resize search bar

Per preference I have moved my search window and my RoboForm bar to the Menu Bar level but I cannot resize either. When I place my curser between them I get a double arrow but it will not allow me to resize either. I can do Customize and add a bunch of spaces to force the resize but isn't there an easier way? (I have a screenshot but don't know how to attach to this box)

I've stumbled upon a fix...using a "resize Search bar" button in the Customize window I reduced the size of the Search Bar. Once that was done the RF bar was able to be manually resized. Hope this helps someone else.
