after I establish a few tabs, they soon disappear, how can I remedy ?

I follow the steps to establish tabs, and It works OK. However, as I continue on the internet, I soon notice the tabs have disappeared and I don't know why they don't remain on the tab bar. I have tried several times, with the same result. Can you tell me where I am going wrong?

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
