A website says my Firefox browser is out of date, but Firefox says it is up to date.
I filled out the form on this newspaper website (https://www.bakersfield.com/site/forms/online_services/letter_editor/#tncms-source=login), but when I submitted it, I got this error message,"Could not connect to the reCAPTCHA service. Please check your internet connection and reload to get a reCAPTCHA challenge." and then this one, "Your browser is out of date and potentially vulnerable to security risks. We recommend switching to one of the following browsers: Microsoft Edge Google Chrome Firefox" BUT when I checked my Firefox browser, it says it is up to date. How to fix this problem?

It is up to date.
They potentially conflate the first error (might be genuine connection issue or service outage on Google side) with some other rule, e.g. failing human verification / bot protection test as using incompatible browser, but it most likely isn't the reason.
If you try again later, ideally from a new Private Window for a clean slate, does it exhibit again?
I tried from a Google Chrome browser; same result. If it's a problem on the Google side, I guess it will be solved by tomorrow. I'll try again then. Thanks for responding, jbr, do you have any other suggestions?
My only trick would be, if the built–in VPN feature is available to you, to try enabling that and signing in using the VPN to see if the slightly different networking setup changes how the site is able to load the external components.
