If you check the Bookmarks sidebar (Command+B), are your bookmarks listed there or does it show only the bookmarks for a new installation?

Same. It is really buggy. MAny sites load blank pages, if they do load, buttons and mouse is not responsive

Hi Jerry, if you haven't already, could you flush out the web content cache (not cookies; keep the cookies). See:

To only bypass the cache for the current page, you can use one of these methods:

• Shift+click the Reload button on the toolbar
• Press Command+Shift+R

If the page still does not load or does not work correctly, it would be useful to rule out a conflict with an add-on. A good tool for that, if you can afford to restart Firefox, is Troubleshoot Mode. See:
