*.msf ist not restored

Texman

I have a proper profile stored in an backup and 1 *.msf wasn´t restored on the new computer, but it is needed as soon as possible. My tries to restore it wasn´t successfull, there are no needed things to restore. The needed msf is located in the new profile, and I can´t see the item. Therefore I need help for restoring this particular *.msf. Greets The Texman aka K.-P. Aldag

Puzzling. Thunderbird automatically reconstructs missing msf files. Please provide more information on the issue. Thank you.

The *.msf is located in the profile and on the right place, alone Thunderbird does not show it. I do only have the *.msf-file, and there must be an folder to show the content... but it is not there within thunderbird. Do i tell it right away? English is not my native language. I hope to make the problem clear... Thanks for answering

You need the mailbox (mbox file) - the file with the folder name that does not have a file extension.

You do not need .msf file which is only the index of messages - it has no value without the mbox file.

Also, if this is for an imap account, you don't need any files, just the account defined in Thunderbird. The messages will download on their own.

Do i have a chance to restore this *.msf-file? There are mails in, which are indexed in this particular msf-file... and no, it´s pop retrieval, that makes it so difficult. Greetings

I mean to restore the mbox-file from the *.msf-file?

Msf file is useless. So no

Thank you for the answers, I have to show into the backup... Greetz The Texman
